…Do as I say, not as I do…

(…scene opens as our hero steps up and mounts the soapbox podium..wait for it…and… ACTION!…)

Our “Concerned Elected Officials” in their drive to provide for the good of their “Flocks”(A.K.A us), since we can’t make good decisions, inform us through speeches and requests for legislation that we should be more frugal with our use of energy ie: fossil fuels. They raise the tax on gas, make laws for the auto manufacturers on MPG and emissions (which in turn raises the price of vehicle’s MSRP). In the race to make these goals, auto companies are trying all sorts of “Smart” (not really) ideas. The electric cars sound like a real promising solution, except for the fact that the cost and environmental impact of producing the batteries these cars use, offset any gains to the carbon footprint.

I believe that if “Our Keepers in Government” were that concerned, and believed that this was the way to go, would show by example and not by words only. Some suggestions:

  • Cut the ties that bind them to “Big Energy” and the $$$ that sway the decisions.
  • If its such a good idea, why aren’t State Capitols and Washington D.C. electric vehicle or urban mass transit only cities? Of course some trucks would be needed for deliveries (although a transfer hub could be set up where goods are brought in by truck then transferred to smaller vehicles or even a electric underground transport system thereby eliminating the noise, congestion, and pollution of surface.) This type of system is already in use (Disney World, Orlando,Florida).
  • All the Limos and SUVs used for transporting officials to and from their meetings, changed to Hybrid or electric vehicles.(I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you need a full size town car or SUV to transport 1 official around town)
  • How about bicycle cabs or even a type of rickshaw. (could be powered by “community service” people (maybe not, this might fall into slavery, or cruel and unusual punishment realms).
  • Eliminating “Gas stations” in the capitol cities, and changing them to “charging stations. This would also prevent tankers (or the possibility of a liquid fuel truck bomb) access to Government centers. Charging sites could also be in parking sites (where during the Reps daily meetings, a freshening charge could be made so vehicles are ready to go at all times.
  • Why aren’t the Capitols making more use of alternative power, wind, solar, hydro? These don’t have to be exclusive sources, but they could augment the current sources, and possible reduce operating costs or even reduce the carbon footprint.
I realize that these ideas would need further analysis (cost and feasibility). But why aren’t they at least being looked at?

Health care

…so I thought I would try going to a different type of doctor for my health care, a doctor that tries to cure my ills and pain with something other than pills and chemicals the doctors prescribe on the suggestion and $$$ incentives of the major pharmaceutical companies. I thought I would try a doctor that practices homeopathic medicine, using natural herbs and the body’s own healing powers. Unfortunately I misread the Dr.’s ad and wound up going to a practitioner of the “Homophobic” regimen, that is, when I would tell him I had a certain ache or symptom of a possible health issue, his answer was: What are you complaining about? you gay or something?

Libya, Freedom, Democracy, yea!!!

Now that Gaddafy Duck is on the run for his life, the rebels (sorry, freedom fighters) are in control, and NATO is considering them their new BFF’s. The new boys in charge are making the kind of statements that bring a lump in the throat and a tear in the eye of every bureaucrat that is jockeying for a chance at kissing their oil-producing asses. The new boys are promising democracy, religious freedom (so long as its Islam) an end to ethnic strife and prejudice (even as reports are coming in about Blacks being beaten and killed due to the fact that some Blacks mercenaries were working for Gaddafy, but some of the blacks killed were local shop keepers and family members.) Gaddafy’s troops have also been reportedly using children as human shields and rape as a weapon, knowing that family s will kill a raped family member rather than have shame heaped on the family’s name (WTF!?). Oh and don’t forget Freedom and Justice for all1 (by the way, they plan on using Islamic Law as their guide!(Time to get in on the ground floor of the Prosthetic Hand Clinic boom).

Now the question I’m trying to raise is, with attitudes and traditions like the Libyans have had for the last forever years,  who wants to start the pool to see when these BFF’s of the West, turn into the typical, dune-runnin’, rag-headed, insane jihadists that these people stereo-typically become? I personally think it will be after they take a boat load of reconstruction cash from NATO, that the common people never see.

Sasquatch thoughts

Sasquatch, Yeti, Big Foot, Creature from Boggy Creek, etc…

Many different names, very similar descriptions, many separate cultures, and a time line that stretches hundreds if not thousands of years. Is Sasquatch real? Countless books, articles, movies, documentaries, eye witnesses, Cryptozoologists and others have argued this pro and con. The physical proof that points to a Sas is in foot print casts, unidentifiable hair samples, some grainy photos (Photoshop beta ver. 1.0), on the other hand  there have been no creatures found living or dead, no living quarters, no shit (no shit!), no explanation of them being able to move quietly, or disappear so quickly. After watching Discovery, Nat Geo, and Animal Planet specials, listening to arguments of the specialists, I have come to my own theory.

The main point of my theory is that Sasquatch is not a carbon based life form, but either  Helium or Hydrogen based (I lean more to Helium other wise forest fires would cause Sasquaches (Sasquachi?) to explode! This type of organism would use their prehensile feet to grip the forest floor and not float away, (explains lack of long foot print trails), their size would be large, but their weight would be a negative buoyancy or close to it. This explains their vanishing act, they either release their hold on the ground and float up to the tree canopy (where their nests are) or pushing off the ground to spring away (leaving a foot print) much like the films we’ve seen of the Astronauts on the moon. This could also explain the lack of bodies, when they die, they just float away until the bodies deteriorate and fall back though the atmosphere, burning up in the process. I suspect at some time there could possibly be a discovery in space of a vast Saragossa Sea of dead Sas’s and tons of Sas poop. Any Thoughts?

Additional thought: Helium based life form may also account for the Sasquatch’s strange sounding vocalizations.

Thoughts

Taste: How good does something have to taste, for a Proctologist to say “it’s finger lickin’ good!“?

Do lesbian frogs think they taste like chicken?

Proper terminology

Lesbovines: When you drive by a herd of milk cows, and see one cow mounting another, those are Lesbovines.

Dykylists:  Two women, holding hands while riding bicycles in the “Gay Pride Parade” are most likely Dykylists.

Skrod: Not a fish, but the past-pluper perfect conjugation of Screw.

Cat-tilingus: When sleeping, your pet cat sleeps on your face.

Bigamist: Large fog over Italy.

Innuendo: Placement location for Italian style suppositories.

Red Neck vamps

When Red Necks are turned into vampires, do they normally have only 1 fang? and how do they chew tobacco with fangs?

CORN FEST

Corn Fest 2011

What a great meal!!! Dinner prepared by Chef Keith of Che’ Straka , Gurnee.

Everything was Corn themed, Corn Chowder (sweet and yummy) followed by corn griddle cakes topped with “Crem” (I’m not sure of spelling, but it’s very similar in taste to a combo of sweet and sour creme), then corn pizza (artichokes, goat cheese, spices, and of course corn), next was “Scalloped Corn (like a creamy corn casserole) followed by homemade corn ice cream topped with kettle corn, oh! I forgot to mention the corn/artichoke dip with corn chips appetizers. Truly a “Corn-copia” of culinary delights. All that was missing was “Corn-likker” and plates made from corn husks. Kudos to Keith, can’t wait till next theme surprise.

Sailing adventure redux

Looking forward to a high seas adventure tomorrow with Captain Kitty A.K.A. Jillian, on Bang’s Lake. Brushing up on proper etiquette by watching Errol Flynn movies (Sea Hawk and Capt. Blood), still having trouble with lingo.

Asking the “Powers That Be” for good weather, with Carmela returning to work beginning next week, our chances of being able to go on mid-week adventures is coming to an end. :-(  We haven’t been able to use the Harley at all (currently the Harley has 50 miles on it since I took it out this year).

I am currently looking for reference suggestions on how to not act like a Land-Lubber  while on board. the following is some of the movies I’ve watched hoping to glean knowledge:

  1. Sea Hawk
  2. Captain Blood
  3. Cabin Boy
  4. Under Siege
  5. Yellowbeard
  6. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
  7. Treasure Island
  8. Pirates Of the Caribbean (1-4)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So much for now, have to sharpen my wooden sword and if I can’t find a  parrot, see if i can get one of my kitties to sit on my shoulder without clawing me to shreds at the sight of water aaaargh mateys!

Vegan Zombies

When a Vegan is turned into a Zombie, does is shuffle about, with out-stretched, quivering, rotted arm on a quest for sustenance, moaning repeatedly: Cauliflowers…Cauliflowers
